The Knights of Columbus Ascension of Our Lord, Council 9623, placed first Nov. 14 in the Knights of Columbus Gumbo diocesan-level cooking contest. They will advance Dec. 5 to Knights' state gumbo cooking finals at St Benedict Seminary, in St. Benedict, Louisiana.
