Ash Wednesday, Lenten schedules for CBD churches

    Catholic churches in the Central Business District of New Orleans will celebrate Ash Wednesday and Lenten Masses as follows:
    ➤ St. Louis Cathedral will offer Masses at 7:30 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, with ashes distributed at all Masses following the homily. Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond will preside at the noon Mass.
    Sunday Masses during Lent will be the 5 p.m. vigil on Saturdays and on Sundays at 9 and 11 a.m. Masses also will be celebrated Monday through Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and noon.
    The sacrament of reconciliation will be available Monday through Friday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. and on Saturday from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Stations of the Cross will be held on Fridays after the noon Mass.
    ➤ Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Baronne St., will have Masses at 7:30 a.m., noon and 5:15 p.m., with confessions heard from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ashes will be distributed at each Mass, and also at Liturgies of the Word at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
    Masses Monday through Friday during Lent will be at 7:30 a.m. and noon. Weekend schedule as usual. Way of the Cross will follow the noon Mass on Fridays. Confessions will be heard Monday through Friday from 11 to 11:55 a.m., Saturdays from 3 to 3:55 p.m., and Sundays from 7 to 7:25 p.m.
    Due to Mardi Gras parades Feb. 18-21, the Mass/confession schedule has been modified as follows: Feb. 18, no 4 p.m. Mass or confessions; Feb. 19, no 7:30 p.m. Mass or confessions; Feb. 20, no noon Mass or confessions; and Feb. 21, church closed.
    ➤ Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 411 N. Rampart St., will offer Masses at 7 a.m., noon, 4 and 6 p.m., with distribution of ashes at each Mass. Daily Masses during Lent, Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. and noon, and Saturday at 7 a.m. Weekend Masses are Saturday vigil Mass at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m. (Spanish) and 6 p.m. Confessions will be heard each Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Way of the Cross will be recited on Fridays at 11:30 a.m.
    ➤ St. Patrick Church, 724 Camp St., will have Masses with distribution of ashes at 11 and 11:45 a.m., 12:30 and 5:15 p.m., with confessions before all Masses.
    During Lent, weekday Masses will be at 11:30 a.m. and noon. Confessions will be heard from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Way of the Cross will be recited on Fridays following the noon Mass. Each Lenten Sunday at 3 p.m., adoration, solemn vespers and benediction will be offered.
    ➤ St. Joseph Church, 1802 Tulane Ave., will have Ash Wednesday Masses at 7 a.m., 12:15 and 8:30 p.m., with distribution of ashes. Masses during Lent, Monday through Friday, will be at 12:15 p.m. Sunday Masses are celebrated at 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
