WOMEN OF FAITH, presents “Sr. Suellen Tennyson: Hear Her Compelling Testimony” Feb. 22, 7 p.m. A Marianite nun, she was abducted from her mission home in West Africa in April 2022 and held captive for five months before being freed. FORUM FOR CAREGIVERS OF ELDERLY PATIENTS, free seminar, Feb. 24, 9 a.m.-noon, to educate about the increasing need for support because of the growing elderly population. Dementia/Alzheimer specialists and a podiatrist will give presentations; Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans and the Council on Aging in New Orleans will be on site to provide resources to caregivers. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL, Archdiocesan Council of New Orleans, holds annual Friends of the Poor Walk/Run fundraiser, March 2 at Harahan Playground, 6601 10th St., Harahan. BROTHER MARTIN HIGH SCHOOL honored Michael H. Lynn Jr. ‘04 with the Brother More Schaefer, S.C. award for his commitment to excellence in instruction, student formation and demonstration of Christian witness inside and outside of the classroom. Lynn holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans and a master’s in education from LSU-Shreveport. He serves as co-moderator of student council and is the director of faculty formation in the educational charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Johnny LeBourgeois ’73 received the Founders Medal for his passion and commitment through service to the school. He has coordinated class reunions, served on the Alumni Board and raised funds.
