THE ST. LOUIS IX ART SOCIETY, inaugural Catholic Art Showcase was rescheduled to Nov. 14, 1-4 p.m. at Notre Dame Seminary’s Schulte Auditorium, 2901 South Carrollton Ave., New Orleans. OUR LADY OF LOURDES, Slidell, will host two presentations on Recovery From Addictions and Unhealthy Attachments. On Nov. 16 at 6 p.m., Scott Weeman, author of “The Twelve Steps and the Sacraments: A Catholic Journey Through Recovery,” and director of Catholic in Recovery, will share his personal testimony and how the sacraments buoyed him in his recovery. On Nov. 30 at 6 p.m., Mary Lou McCall will speak on the dangers of substance abuse and her personal experience with recovery through the help of her Catholic faith. CATHOLIC BIKE RIDE, Mike Branley, a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Mandeville, is trying to gauge interest in a weekly bike ride along Lake Pontchartrain in Old Mandeville. He plans to meet 90 minutes before sunset, starting at the gazebo on the lake across from 2129 Lakeshore Drive in Old Mandeville. The ride would include a stop for a Bible study. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL 9623, Ascension of Our Lord Parish in LaPlace has awarded its “Knight of the Year” to Yancy Forsythe, financial secretary for the council. Forsythe was involved with the admission degree team and numerous community programs such as assisting COVID-19 families who were quarantined in their homes.
