CSW Art & Music Festival to unfold at Lakeside, Jan. 30-Feb. 2

The annual event showcasing Catholic-school achievements in the creative and performing arts is set for Jan. 30-Feb. 2 at Lakeside Shopping Center, 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie.

The 2023 Catholic Schools Week Art and Music Festival will feature its traditional displays of original student art from Archdiocese of New Orleans elementary and high schools, as well as daily performances by school choirs, musicians, cheerleaders and dance groups. All performances will take place at the shopping mall’s Veterans Skylight stage.

Families interested in enrolling their children in Catholic education will also be able to access literature on participating Catholic schools.

This year’s culminating Catholic School Week Mass will be celebrated Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at Divine Mercy Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy. in Kenner. The principal celebrant will be Archbishop Gregory Aymond; Father Robert Cooper, pastor of Divine Mercy Church, will be the homilist for the Mass.

The festival and the Feb. 3 Mass are coordinated by the archdiocesan Department of Catholic Education and Faith Formation. The 2023 theme of Catholic Schools Week is  “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.”
