Father Otis Young's cause of death announced

St. Tammany Coroner Charles A. Preston has identified Father Otis Young as one of the two bodies found burned Nov. 28 in the 500 block of Gibson Street in Covington. His cause of death was by sharp and blunt force trauma, and his manner of death by homicide.

Dr. Preston is currently running an in-house DNA analysis to identify the female victim, with results likely to be ready by Friday. Because of Father Young’s unique medical history, DNA analysis wasn’t required to identify his body, the coroner's office said.

When the second body has been positively identified, the St. Tammany Coroner's Office and the Covington Police Department will hold a joint press conference to release further details.
