A restoration crew from New Orleans Catholic Cemeteries recently restored Cabrini High School’s Sacred Heart of Jesus statue, located outside Cabrini’s administration building facing Bayou St. John.
A few months ago, vandals knocked the statue off its base and caused what was assumed to have been irreparable damage.
Holding out hope that it could be saved, Jack Truxillo, Cabrini’s president, reached out to Joseph Connor, New Orleans Catholic Cemeteries’ assistant director of operations. The magnificent results (pictured below, at right) attest to the masterful skills of Cemeteries staff.
